The Okotoks Dawgs rebounded in a strong way on Saturday, collecting 18 hits in a 13-3 victory over the Sylvan Lake Gulls.

The commanding win followed a shutout loss to the Gulls at Seaman Stadium on Friday.

Trent Lenihan (White Rock, B.C.) went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Dawgs. Meanwhile, Elijha Hammill (Oakville, Ont.) pitched in with two hits and three runs and Caleb Lumbard (Regina, Sask.) had two hits and three RBIs.

Graham Brunner (Sherwood Park, Alta.) went two innings for the Dawgs, and struck out one while giving up three runs on three hits. Starting in the third inning, the Dawgs’ bullpen shut the door on the Gulls’ offence, limiting them to two hits for the rest of the game.

The Dawgs will now battle the Gulls at Seaman Stadium on Sunday afternoon. They will then have a few days off before embarking on a five-game road trip, starting in Sylvan Lake on Wednesday.
