An update on Clyde Inouye’s health.

I visited him last week and would like all of you to know that he is on a slow road to recovery. His son and daughter have been spending a lot of time with him in Parksville helping with his recovery. Clyde recently turned 80.

He has some weakness of his left side but is definitely improving on a daily basis. He goes for physical therapy several times a week working on getting his strength and mobility back. Physically and mentally, he looks a lot better than six weeks ago.

He is still limiting visitors as he does get tired after his therapy and enjoys his afternoon snoozes.

In April, Inouye was diagnosed with some artery issues during a routine annual physical and is now recovering from a five-hour bypass surgery in Victoria in March.

Your thoughts should be with Clyde Inouye, BC Premier League’s founder

The BCPBL, the most productive and most successful best-against-best league in Canada, was founded by Walt Burrows, Lowell Hodges and the late Dave Wallace, as well as Inouye, who ran the Parksville Royals.
