BARRIE, Ont. – The Barrie Baycats have signed first baseman/outfielder Nolan Machibroda for the 2024 season.

Machibroda, 24, is from Saskatoon, Sask., and was signed by the Minnesota Twins in 2022.

His pro opportunity came after he batted .460 in 2022 with the Cumberland Bulldogs of the NAIA. He also connected for 17 home runs and 83 RBIs in 47 games.

“Nolan is the big middle-of-the-order impactful first basemen we were looking for,” said Baycats general manager Josh Matlow. “He not only fills in the roster nicely but fits the culture. We are thrilled to have Nolan join us this summer and believe the fans will enjoy watching him too!”

The home opener for the Barrie Baycats is May 16 against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
