Blue Jays from Away
Had the New Hampshire Fisher Cats not lost their game, the Toronto Blue Jays organization would have started off its week with a clean sweep, instead the club's minor league affiliates finished with a 7-1 day.
Buffalo Bisons 6, Syracuse Chiefs 2
The struggling Buffalo Bisons stopped their slide, beating the Syracuse Chiefs 6-2 on Monday. Chris Rowley tossed five strong innings, giving up just one run on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts to earn his first Buffalo win. John Stilson allowed a run on a hit and two walks in 1 1/3 innings and Matt Dermody shone in relief, tossing 2 2/3 innings of one-hit ball, striking out three.
Raffy Lopez was 2/4 with an RBI while Rowdy Tellez drove in two runs, going 1/4 with a double. Roemon Fields was 1/3 with a walk, an RBI and a stolen base and Jon Berti was 1/3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and a stolen base.

Roster Notes: Mike Bolsinger had his contract selected by the Blue Jays. Ian Parmley was sent outright to the Buffalo Bisons. Tim Mayza was promoted to Buffalo from New Hampshire
New Hampshire Fisher Cats 6, Trenton Thunder 11
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats dropped yet another game to the Trenton Thunder, losing 11-6 for their 50th loss of the season. Shane Dawson (Drayton Valley, Alta.) had another rough start, giving up five runs (four earned) on seven hits and two walks over five innings but he did strike out eight batters. Carlos Ramirez threw a scoreless inning, striking out two but Alonzo Gonzalez pitched to six batters in the seventh inning but couldn't get any out, eventually getting charged with five runs (four earned). Yonardo Herdenez allowed one of his two inherited runners to score and gave up one run of his own in the final three innings of the game, making his double-A debut.
Tim Lopes was 3/4 with a double, a home run and two runs scored. Harold Ramirez was 2/4 with a stolen base and Richard Urena hit his fourth home run of the year, going 2/5. Derrick Loveless was 2/3 with a walk, an RBI and a run.

Roster Notes: Tim Mayza was promoted to Buffalo and Kender Villegas was sent down to Dunedin. Carlos Ramirez was activated off the DL and Yonardo Herdenez was promoted from Bluefield.
Dunedin Blue Jays 5, Daytona Tortugas 0
The Dunedin Blue Jays returned to the .500 mark thanks to a stellar pitching performance from Markham, Ontario's own Jordan Romano in a 5-0 victory over the Daytona Tortugas. Romano tossed seven innings, allowing only three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts while Jackson McClelland finished it off with two hitless innings, striking out one.
The offence had just four hits but Lourdes Gurriel hit his first home run in North America, going 1/3 with a walk and two RBI. J.C. Cardenas also had a pair of hits, going 2/3 with a single and a double, driving in a run and scoring twice. Connor Panas (Toronto, Ont.) was 1/3 with a walk and a single.

Roster Notes: Kender Villegas was sent to Dunedin from New Hampshire while Dominic Abbadessa was sent back to the GCL Blue Jays. Eduard Pinto, acquired in the Jason Grilli trade, was assigned to Dunedin.
Lansing Lugnuts 8, South Bend Cubs 2
The Lansing Lugnuts (41-37) got their offence going thanks to Bo Bichette and Joshua Palacios in an 8-2 victory over the South Bend Cubs. Bichette launched his 10th home run of the year, going 3/5 with a single, double and home run, driving in two and scoring three times. Palaicos remained hot, going 3/5 with a double and two runs and adding a stolen base. Nick Sinay was 2/3 with a run and was hit by a pitch. Yeltsin Gudino was 1/3 with a triple and a walk and Rodrigo Orozco was 1/4 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Mitch Nay was on base three times with a single and two walks.
Geno Encina got the start, tossing 5 1/3 innings of two-run (one earned) ball, giving up five hits and striking out four to get the win. Nick Hartman threw 2 2/3 innings, giving up a hit and striking out one and Jared Carkuff finished the game with a scoreless ninth, walking one.
Player of the Game: Bo Bichette
Roster Notes: Nick Sinay was activated off the DL and J.B. Woodman was placed on the DL.
Vancouver Canadians 7, Eugene Emeralds 2
The Vancouver Canadians got a strong overall game from the whole club to beat the Eugene Emeralds 7-2. Riley Adams had another four hits, going 4/5 with a double and three RBI. Reggie Pruitt was 2/5 with a triple and a run. Owen Spiwak (Mississauga, Ont.) was 2/3 with a walk.
Juan Nunez went 5 1/3 innings for the win, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Miguel Burgos was excellent, giving up just a hit and two walks over 2 2/3 innings with two strikeouts and Orlando Pascual finished it off with a scoreless ninth.

Bluefield Blue Jays 10, Bristol Pirates 4
The Bluefield Blue Jays' pitching staff struck out 15 batters collectively in a 10-4 win over the Bristol Pirates. Ryan Noda hit another two doubles, going 2/3 with two walks and three runs. Ryan Gold drove in five runs, going 2/3 with a triple and a run scored, adding a walk. Mc Gregory Contreras drove in three runs, going 1/3 with a walk.
Joel Espinal was outstanding on the mound, giving up just one hit in five innings and striking out six. Jordan Barrett struck out four in two innings, walking two. Kelyn Jose gave up two runs on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 2/3 of an inning and Jose Nova struck out three in 1 1/3 innings but gave up another two runs on three hits.

Roster Notes: Yonardo Herdenez was promoted to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
GCL Blue Jays 2, GCL Pirates 1
The GCL Blue Jays defeated the GCL Pirates 2-1 on Monday. Jake Fishman made his season debut with a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and striking out one before Elieser Medrano took over, tossing five innings of one-run ball, giving up two hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Maverik Buffo tossed two scoreless frames and Adams Cuevas earned his second save by throwing a scoreless ninth, striking out the side.
The Blue Jays had just five hits including a home run from Davis Schneider (his first professional dinger), driving in both of the club's runs. Schneider added a walk.

Roster Notes: Jake Fishman and Dominic Abbadessa were assigned to the GCL Blue Jays.
DSL Blue Jays 4, DSL White Sox 1
The DSL Blue Jays opened their week with another win, beating the DSL White Sox 4-1. Emanuel Vizcaino allowed the run but it was unearned on three hits, striking out one in three innings. Jhon Victorino gave up a hit but nothing more in an inning while Luis Alvarez allowed only one hit in four innings, striking out three. Elixon Caballero picked up the save, striking out two in the ninth.
The Blue Jays had seven hits as a club including a triple and a walk from Steward Berroa who drove in two and scored two. Hector Guerrero was 2/3 with a walk.
