The Buffalo Bisons were the only Blue Jays affiliate to win on Sunday as the other teams all came away with losses and the Bisons slammed three home runs in their game.

Buffalo Bisons 6, Lehigh Valley IronPigs (PHI) 2

Shawn Morimando was very solid on the mound for the triple-A Bisons and Reese McGuire continues to swing a hot bat as the Bisons beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 6-2 on Sunday.

Morimando went seven innings for his second win of the season, striking out a season-high seven betters with two runs allowed on four hits (including a home run) and a walk. Jordan Romano (Markham, Ont.) earned his first save, striking out two in two perfect innings.

Socrates Brito had a pair of hits with a double and a triple, going 2/5 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base, giving him a 1.009 OPS for his time in Buffalo. Teoscar Hernandez was 1/5 but hit his third home run in Buffalo, driving in two while Jordan Patterson was 1/3 with a solo home run and two walks. Reese McGuire was 1/4 with a solo home run, his second in as many games and Anthony Alford was on base three times, hitting a double, a single and taking a walk, scoring twice.

Roster Notes: Ryan Feierabend was sent outright to Buffalo and Jacob Waguespack was promoted to Toronto.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats 5, Hartford Yard Goats (COL) 8

The double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats couldn’t beat their nemesis, the Hartford Yard Goats, losing 8-5.

Riley Adams continues to swing a hot bat, going 2/3 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and two runs. Santiago Espinal scored twice, going 1/4 with a stolen base while Forrest Wall was 1/5 with an RBI. Patrick Kivlehan, Chad Spanberger and Christian Williams were all 1/4 and Kevin Smith was 1/4 with a double and a run.

Yennsy Diaz allowed five runs on eight hits (including a home run) over six innings but didn’t walk anyone and struck out six. Danny Young pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one and Jake Fishman allowed three runs in the ninth, giving up four hits and striking out two.

Dunedin Blue Jays 2, Florida Fire Frogs (ATL) 6

The class-A Advanced Dunedin Blue Jays finally lost a game to the Florida Fire Frogs, losing 6-2 on Sunday.

Kevin Vicuna (2/5), Cullen Large (2/4, HR, RBI, R) and Logan Warmoth (2/4) had two hits each while Demi Orimioloye (Orleans, Ont.) hit his first home run in a Blue Jays uniform. Ryan Noda was 1/3 with a walk and Cal Stevenson was 1/4 with a walk.

Graham Spraker allowed five runs in five innings but only three were earned as he gave up seven hits and struck out six. Emerson Jimenez allowed a run on two hits and two walks with one strikeout in two innings while Mike Ellenbest kept his ERA at 0.00, striking out one in two perfect innings of relief.

Lansing Lugnuts 1, Lake County Captains (CLE) 4

The low-A Lansing Lugnuts’ offence went missing as they struggled to just one run against the Lake County Captains in a 4-1 loss.

Otto Lopez was 2/4 but made an error at shortstop while Hagen Danner hit a double (1/3) and Mc Gregory Contreras was 1/3 with a triple, a run and an outfield assist. D.J. Neal was 1/4 and Gabriel Moreno was 1/4.

Troy Miller had a strong start, giving up just one run on a solo home run among two hits with three walks and four strikeouts in six innings, his longest outing of the year. Mike Pascoe was charged with three runs on four hits (including a home run) with three walks and a strikeout in two innings and Sean Rackoski allowed a walk and struck out two in the ninth.
