The Blue Jays' affiliates went 2-1 with three games on the agenda, as the organization moved a number of players around, particularly those who are catchers.

Buffalo Bisons 8, Syracuse Chiefs 6

The Buffalo Bisons got back on the winning trail by scoring two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat the Syracuse Chiefs 8-6 on Monday. Jonathan Diaz walked to get the Bisons' eighth-inning rally going and was followed by a Roemon Fields single and took third on an error. Diaz scored on a passed ball and then Christian Lopes grounded out, scoring Fields for the second run. Overall, Fields was 2/4 with a double, two RBI and a run while Raffy Lopez was 2/4 with two RBI and a run. Darrell Ceciliani also had two hits, going 2/4 with a walk, an RBI, a run and a stolen base.

Jarrett Grube got the start, going five innings and allowing six runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Chris Smith made his return to Buffalo with a scoreless sixth and Jeff Beliveau tossed two scoreless innings without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out four. Wil Browning earned his first save of the season with a perfect ninth, striking out one.

Roster Notes: Righty Leonel Campos was promoted to Toronto after Steve Pearce was placed on the 10-day DL and Chris Smith was activated from his rehab assignment while Brett Oberholtzer was placed on the disabled list.

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

Roster Notes: The New Hampshire Fisher Cats completely revamped their catching corps with Ryan Hissey heading back to Lansing and Mike Reeves (Peterborough, Ont.) going back to Dunedin. Joining New Hampshire were Michael De La Cruz and Danny Jansen. Andrew Case (Saint John, N.B.) was promoted to New Hampshire from Dunedin and Francisco Rios was placed on the DL.

Dunedin Blue Jays 6, Charlotte Stone Crabs 5

The Dunedin Blue Jays got out to an early lead but needed to walk off in the bottom of the ninth inning to take a 6-5 win against the Charlotte Stone Crabs. Troy Tulowitzki was in the Dunedin lineup, batting second and playing shortstop. He was 1/3 with an RBI and a run and Josh Almonte took over for him in the sixth inning with Andrew Guillotte moving from the outfield to shortstop and Almonte taking over in right field. Max Pentecost had a great game, going 2/4 with his eighth home run of the season, driving in three runs and scoring twice. Guillotte also must have enjoyed himself, going 3/4 with two runs, including the game winner after leading off the ninth inning with a single. Cavan Biggio was 2/4 with a run and followed Guillotte in the ninth with a sac bunt, moving him to second. Josh Almonte drove home the winner with a single to right field.

Jordan Romano (Markham, Ont.) was the starter and he only went three innings before being relieved by Connor Eller. Romano allowed an unearned run on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts. Eller went three hitless innings, walking two. Adonys Cardona got into trouble in the seventh, getting charged with three runs on three walks and a hit in 2/3 of an inning while Danny Young stranded the runner he inherited from Cardona and pitched 1 1/3 innings, giving up just a walk with two strikeouts. Ryan Cook finished the game, giving up a solo home run in the top of the ninth, blowing the save but getting the win after the D-Jays scored in the bottom.

Player of the Game: Max Pentecost and Andrew Guillotte

Roster Notes: Danny Jansen and Andrew Case (Saint John, N.B.) were promoted to New Hampshire while Mike Reeves (Peterborough, Ont.) came back to Dunedin. William Ouellette and Jared Carkuff were assigned to the D-Jays from extended spring training while Chris Smith returned to the Buffalo Bisons. Troy Tulowitzki was assigned to Dunedin for his rehab assignment.

Lansing Lugnuts 2, Fort Wayne TinCaps 10

The Lansing Lugnuts got hit hard, falling to the Fort Wayne TinCaps 10-2 on Monday. Mike Ellenbest lasted three innings, giving up five runs on seven hits (including a home run) with three strikeouts. Tayler Saucedo allowed another five runs (four earned) on another seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts. Andrew Deramo made his season debut for the Lugnuts, throwing two hitless innings, walking three and striking out three. Jackson McClelland got an inning of work in, throwing a perfect ninth.

Bo Bichette had the most hits for the Lugnuts, going 2/3 with a triple and a walk and scoring a run. Bradley Jones hit his seventh home run, going 1/3 with a walk while Christian Williams was 1/3 with a walk.

Roster Notes: Ryan Hissey was sent back to the Lansing Lugnuts while Michael De La Cruz was promoted to New Hampshire. Andrew Deramo joined the Lugnuts from extended spring training and Griffin Glaude was placed on the 7-day DL.
