Official USC Upstate Athletics News Release

Adding to a historic senior season that saw him break three program records, earn two All-American honors, and bring home Big South Conference Pitcher and Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards, USC Upstate baseball right-hander Jordan Marks was named to the Canadian Baseball Network's All-Canadian College First Team, the organization announced Wednesday.

Marks, a native of Bright's Grove, Ont., selection to the CBN's All-Canadian First Team puts him among the 12 best of the 814 Canadians that played their college ball in the United States in 2021. The honour comes after Marks was the seventh Canadian drafted in the 2021 MLB Draft, being selected 225th overall by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round.

"Jordan Marks continues to collect the accolades and they are all well-deserved," said USC Upstate head coach Mike McGuire. "He had a great career for us and I look forward to following his career in professional baseball."

Marks' stellar senior campaign culminated with American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Second Team All-Atlantic Region and National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association Third Team Division I All-American honors as he posted a 10-2 record in 15 starts, sporting a 2.54 earned run average while collecting 101 strikeouts over 95 2/3 innings pitched.

Leading the Big South in ERA, games started, strikeout to walk ratio, victories, WHIP, and innings pitched, he earned the conference's Pitcher of the Year honour while earning a spot on the leagues' All-Conference First Team.

In addition to his success on the field, Marks also nabbed Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year honours, graduating last May with a degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management while boasting a 3.924 GPA.
