OTTAWA - Baseball Canada has turned to catcher Mike Reeves (Peterborough, Ont.) adding to Canada’s roster for the upcoming World Baseball Classic.

Reeves replaces catcher Kellin Deglan (Langley, BC) who had to withdraw from participating in the tournament due to injury.

Reeves, 26, is a member of the Toronto Blue Jays organization and spent the 2016 season at High-A Dunedin where he hit .244 with three home runs and 16 RBIs in 53 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 21st round of the 2013 MLB draft out of Florida Gulf Coast University.

Before that he played for the Ontario Blue Jays.
