Morrison named GLIAC Player of the Week

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its awards following the first week of the 2026 baseball season.

Grand Valley State swept the honours, with senior shortstop Evan Morrison (Wheatley, Ont.) earning GLIAC Player of the Week recognition and senior right-hander Collin Bradley receiving GLIAC Pitcher of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Evan Morrison, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State senior SS Evan Morrison was named the GLIAC Player of the Week after hitting .788 (13-for-18), with three triples, three doubles, 10 runs scored and three RBIs versus No. 9 Northwood. In addition, Morrison tallied 22 total bases, a 1.222 slugging percentage, .750 on base percentage, a 1.972 OPS and was 3-for-3 in stolen bases as the No. 15 Lakers captured the series win. Morrison opened the 2026 campaign by going 8-for-8 and reaching base in each of his first nine plate appearances. Morrison, who was a first-team All-GLIAC performer in 2025, reached base in 15-of-his-20 plate appearances in the four-game series.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Collin Bradley, Grand Valley State

Grand Valley State senior pitcher Collin Bradley picked up the pitching win versus No. 9 Northwood in the opening series of the 2026 campaign, earning GLIAC Pitcher of the Week honours. Bradley went five innings, yielding no runs on four hits with five strikeouts. He allowed just two runners past first base in the outing and allowed just four base runners. Bradley, who was an All-GLIAC performer in 2025, improved to 16-7 in his 23 career starts.
