Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs are set to welcome back a familiar trio this summer.

They have re-signed Jake Skaggs (Grand Valley State University), Jacob Wrubleski (Gonzaga University), and Reid Madriaga (Bellevue University).

Skaggs returns after a standout season at Seaman Stadium, establishing himself as one of the Dawgs’ most consistent offensive performers. Appearing in 47 games, the outfielder hit .338, while collecting 11 doubles, one triple and four home runs. His ability to get on base and create offence was evident in his 45 runs scored.

Wrubleski (Okotoks, Alta.) is also back in Okotoks after providing timely power in limited action due to injury. The backstop played 13 games last season, batting .260 with two doubles and two home runs. He finished with 12 RBIs and nine runs scored.

On the pitching side, Madriaga returns after a spotless run on the mound in both the regular season and playoffs. During the regular season, he made five appearances, pitching 4 1/3 innings with four strikeouts and a perfect 0.00 ERA. He was equally effective in the postseason, throwing two scoreless innings over two appearances while striking out three.
