Official Okotoks Dawgs News Release

The Okotoks Dawgs defeated the Lethbridge Bulls 7-3 on Saturday afternoon.

The Dawgs took the lead early and applied the pressure offensively before the game was called early due to weather conditions that made the field unplayable.

The Dawgs extended their winning streak to five games and now own a record of 38-12. They only need one more victory to clinch home field advantage for the playoffs.

Julian Tymochko (Etobicoke, Ont.) started on the mound and earned the win as he tossed 3 1/3 innings and allowed three earned runs, while recording five strikeouts. The victory improved his record to 6-2 on the season.

Relief pitching efforts from Branden LeBlanc (Victoria, B.C.) and Noah Geekie (Strathclair, Man.) limited the Bulls offence in the shortened game.

The Dawgs’ offence was led by McCoy Pearce (Kamloops, B.C.) who blasted his seventh home run of the season, doubled and finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Jacob Morrow (Mississauga, Ont.) also had a multi hit game going 2-for-4. Micah McDowell (Kentville, N.S.) collected an RBI while Alejandro Cazorla (Okotoks, Alta.) added two RBIs.

The Dawgs will host the Lethbridge Bulls on Sunday in a doubleheader that will be highlighted by the Breast Cancer Awareness Game that will start the day at 2:05 p.m. The rescheduled game that was supposed to be played on Saturday night will be played Sunday evening following the afternoon game.
