Vauxhall Jets split doubleheader in Lethbridge

Friday didn’t start great but it finished decent as the Jets split a doubleheader with PBA JV in Lethbridge, losing 16-13 in game 1 and winning 20-4 in the second game.

Tyler Boudreau started the first contest, going two innings allowing two hits and one run, while striking out four. Shaye McTavish then threw 1/3 of an inning and permitted five earned runs. Ben Adams followed by hurling 1 2/3 innings and giving up two earned runs. Mason Nordli then took over and threw two good innings with four strikeouts before Justin Adamoski allowed three earned runs in 1 1/3 innings. Reece Keller then took the mound and tossed 1/3 of an inning and surrendered two runs prior to Jack Mount finishing things off with a strikeout.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Nick Gravel who was 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI. Aaron Vulcano, Jackson Clemett, Carlin Dick and Josh Clark also had two-hit games, while Hunter Porter was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Game 2 was a much better effort on all sides. Cole Alguire started on the mound, and fanned five in two innings while allowing two earned runs. Levi Abbott then struck out three in two solid innings while permitting an unearned run. Anson McGorman then proceeded to strike out the side in both innings he pitched. Hunter Porter finished things off with a solid inning in which he registered two strikeouts.

Offensively, the Jets were led by Kalem Haney, Carlin Dick, and Hunter Porter who each had three-hit games. Dick also drove in four. Nick Gravel, Aaron Vulcano, Shaye McTavish and Mason Nordli each added two hits each, while Miciahai Furbert was 1-for-1 in his Jets debut. Jackson Clemett and Logan Domanski also had a hit and RBI each.
