Wiersma transfers to Youngstown State

North Shore Twins grad 1B Trevor Wiersma (West Vancouver, BC) will be a Youngstown State Penquin next spring

Trevor Wiersma has transferred from the Concord University Mountain Lions to the Youngstown State University Penguins.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound 1B Wiersma (West Vancouver, BC) had a heck of a season with the Mountain Lions.

Highlights: Played in 145 games and made 140 starts over three seasons at Division II Concord University... Batted at least .320 in all three seasons

2018 season: Overcame a slow start in 2018 to hit .323 with eight homers, batting .386 over his final 88 at bats of the season ... An Honorable Mention All-MEC pick as a junior. 

2017 season: Had a .331 average, eight home runs and 49 RBIs as a sophomore ... Earned First-Team All-MEC selection as a sophomore, with eight home runs.

2016 season: Hit .362 with four home runs, 18 doubles and 49 RBIs as a red shirt freshman in 2016... Named the Mountain East Conference Freshman of the Year in 2016, and was a First-Team All-MEC selection as a freshman with eight home runs.

Will work toward his Master’s in Business Administration at YSU.
