Game 2 WMBL Division Finals
Edmonton 7 at Medicine Hat 6
(Series tied 1-1)
The Edmonton Prospects scored seven runs in the third inning to defeat Medicine Hat 7-6 at Athletic Park. The Mavericks had a ninth inning rally that just fell short as Medicine Hat produced scored two runs and left a man on base.
Michael Gahan, Eric Crain and AJ Nitzschke each had two hits for the Prospects. Anthony Cusati added two RBI to assist in Edmonton’s win. Zack Gray and Nolan Rattai each produced three RBI for the Mavericks in a losing cause.
Edmonton starter Edgar Barclay went 5 2/3 innings to get the victory. The California State junior gave up four runs on six hits and five walks. He also struck out four. Michael Gahan came out of the Prospect bullpen to finish the game.
Matt Brooks, a junior from UNC Charlotte, lasted just three innings before turning the game over to the Medicine Hat bullpen. The combination of Ryan Czanstkowski and Junior Pimentel kept the Mavericks in the game as they did not give up a run over the final six innings.

Eastern Division Final
Regina 6 at Weyburn 5 (11 innings)
(Series tied 1-1)
The Regina Red Sox outlasted the Weyburn Beavers 6-5 is a dramatic 11 inning ball game. Outfielder Wesley had a single stolen base and then scored on a wild pitch to secure the Red Sox win in the top of the 11th.
Regina got home runs from Jahshua Jones and Erik Crossman as well as a three hit night from Phil Langlois.
Weyburn leftfielder Wade Weinburger contributed three hits including two home runs and four RBI for the Beavers. He also scored three of the Weyburn runs.
Red Sox reliever Anthony De La Cruz pitched the final two innings to earn his third playoff win. Chandler Casey took the loss after coming out to pit the top of the 11thinning.
