Semi-finals set in three nationals.

Competition is heating up at the three Baseball Canada Championships as teams looked to make a push for the top of the standings.

The 18U Championship, 21U Men Championship and 16U Girls Invitational all got underway to kick off what will be another action-packed weekend for Baseball Canada. 

With three Baseball Canada National Championship tournaments already in the books, three more are set to begin tomorrow as the championship season kicks into high gear.

BC wins gold at DQ ® 13U National Western:  

The first few games were played on Thursday at Baseball Canada’s third event of the summer, this one in Saskatoon, SK. Day one at the DQ® 13U National Western Championship saw four match-ups take place at Joe Zeman and Ed Bryant fields.

Two Baseball Canada National Championships took place last week to kick off our championship season, and another is on deck for this week with the DQ® 13U National Western Championship running August 11-14 in Saskatoon.

After two semifinal games, including one that went 10 innings, and two medal games it was Québec who came away as the first gold medalists in the events history after defeating BC, 7-5 in the title game.

Six games took place on Saturday with the last five round-robin games and a lone quarterfinal match-up.

Ontario and Nova Scotia both improved their records to 2-0 as day two of competition took place in Halifax at the inaugural 21U Women Invitational.

Both semi-finals are now set in stone after three days of preliminary play in Halifax, NS. 

The competition continued on Thursday in Fort McMurray, AB as seven more games were played at Shell Place and Ross Hennigar Park.
