Matt Brash brings hardware home to Kingston

Matt Brash (Kingston, Ont.) was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in his freshman season for the Niagara University Purple Eagles. But the young right-hander hopes to enhance his pitching arsenal so he can be even more effective in his sophomore campaign. Niagara's Brash freshman, MAAC Rookie of Year. Matt Brash finished the season 5-1, appearing in 17 games, starting 10 leading the staff in innings pitched with 77 1/3 innings, fanning 63 batters and recording two saves. He with an ERA of 2.79, which is the fifth-best in Purple Eagles. It may have been a surprise to some -- but not his roomie Joe Tevlin (Toronto, Ont.) who predicted big things for Brash before the start of the season.
