McDowell changing lives with B.A.T.

Devon Teeple, of The GM’s Perspective, recently spoke with Baseball Assistance Team (B.A.T.) addiction and recovery consultant, Tim McDowell about his life-changing work. B.A.T. was formed in 1986 by a group of former Major League Baseball players to confidentially help members of the baseball family who were in need of assistance with nowhere else to turn. McDowell has experienced much that the game can provide and now is using his skills as an educator, mentor, and facilitator to make a difference in the lives of others.

Author's novel touches on violent future of baseball

Ray Boudreau, who lives in Whitefish, Ont. near Sudbury, has penned “A Future Pastime: A Complicated Baseball Story,” a dystopian sports sci-fi novel about four young boys, who grow up playing soft rules of Alliance Baseball on the same team. When they get older, they are drafted by different major league teams and have to play the hard rules against each other in a World Series final.
