From Seaman Stadium to the major leagues: Andrew Kittredge

Baseball fans have seen plenty of talented pitchers toe the rubber on the mound at Seaman Stadium, home of the Okotoks Dawgs, since its opening in 2007, but without a doubt, Andrew Kittredge stood out. In 2017, the now 28-year old right-hander became the second Dawgs alumnus to play in the major leagues when he got the call from the Tampa Bay Rays in July of that season.

WAR, what is it good for? So far, not for Larry Walker's HOF hopes

Tracy Ringolsby, of Inside the Seams, writes that Larry Walker won the battle on the field, but (so far) not at the Hall of Fame ballot box. Walker’s career WAR of 72.6 is the 51st highest among position players. There is only one of the 50 players with a higher WAR than Walker who has been eliminated from consideration by Hall of Fame voters — Lou Whitaker, who didn’t receive the five percent necessary to stay on the ballot in his first year of eligibility.
