Gallagher: How about bringing Martinez and Henley to Montreal to celebrate Nats' win?

The Nationals celebrated their World Series victory with a parade in Washington Nov. 2 and after a day off, they're headed to the White House to be feted on Nov. 4. And before they all scatter to their homes, how about manager Dave Martinez and third-base coach Bob Henley coming to Montreal to a public reception with the Commissioner's Trophy? This is Canadian Baseball Network writer Danny Gallagher’s suggestion. Martinez and Henley both played for the Montreal Expos before they moved to Washington.

Beeston, Howarth honoured by Ontario Sports hall

Former Toronto Blue Jays president Paul Beeston (Welland, Ont.) was one of seven new Ontario Sports Hall of Fame inductees honoured in a ceremony last night at the Sheraton Centre Hotel in Toronto. Jerry Howarth was also honoured with the Ontario sports hall’s Brian Williams Media Award for his excellent work behind the mike for the Toronto Blue Jays for 36 seasons.
