Proposed new Montreal park will be a ''community project''

Stephen Bronfman and Montreal mayor Valerie Plante met Tuesday to discuss a new baseball park south of downtown in the Peel Basin and apparently the meeting went smooth. Bronfman, the son of former Expos majority owner Charles Bronfman, heads a group of investors under his Montreal Baseball Group umbrella seeking Major League Baseball's return to Montreal. Canadian Jack Graney wins the National Baseball Hall of Fame’s Ford C. Frick Award

St. Thomas, Ont., native Jack Graney has been named the winner of the National Baseball Hall of Fame’s 2022 Ford C. Frick Award, which is presented annually for broadcasting excellence. With the honour, Graney becomes the first winner of the award to have been born in Canada. Graney will be honoured posthumously during the Hall’s awards ceremony in Cooperstown during Hall of Fame Weekend, which will take place from July 22 to 25, 2022.
