Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer Thomson set to manage Phillies in World Series

Rob Thomson (Corunna, Ont.) will become the first Canadian to manage a team in the World Series in 135 years when he leads his Philadelphia Phillies against the Houston Astros in Game 1 of the Fall Classic on Friday. R.I.P. Marv Staehle

Former Montreal Expos second baseman Marv Staehle has died. Staehle, who played for the Expos in 1969 and 1970, passed away Sept. 30 at age 80, according to a Facebook notice. Canadian Baseball Network writer Danny Gallagher shares more about Staehle and his major league career.
