The Toronto Chapter of the BBWAA have announced their annual award winners highlighted by the unanimous selection of RHP Marcus Stroman as the Pitcher of the Year. Also recognized were 3B Josh Donaldson who earned the Neil MacCarl award as the Player of the Year, 1B Justin Smoak recognized as the Most Improved Player, RHP Danny Barnes as the Rookie of the Year, and former Baseball Media staff member, Mal Romanin, as the John Cerutti award recipient.

Andrew Tinnish withdraws from Braves, remains with Jays

Atlanta Braves Executive Vice President and General Manager Alex Anthopoulos announced on Friday that due to personal family considerations, Hamilton, Ont., native Andrew Tinnish has withdrawn from his recently-announced position as vice president of amateur and international scouting. Tinnish will remain with the Toronto Blue Jays where he will serve as assistant general manager.

Blue Jays outright Rowley, Ramirez, acquire Ngoepe, lose Refsnyder

With 2017's Rule 5 draft approaching, the Toronto Blue Jays outrighted outfielder Harold Ramirez and right-hander Chris Rowley off the team's 40-man roster on Monday. The Blue Jays also acquired infielder Gift Ngoepe from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for a player to be named later or cash and lost utility player Rob Refsnyder to the Cleveland Indians on a waiver claim.
