Toronto Blue Jays’ 2019 first-round pick Alek Manoah was impressed by the moves his club’s front office made this off-season to bolster the roster.

“A week shy of their first official workout in Dunedin, the Toronto Blue Jays have added two right-handers into their pitching mix, acquiring RHP Joel Payamps off waivers from the Boston Red Sox, and inking veteran righty David Phelps to a one-year, $1.25-million deal.”

Left-hander Francisco Liriano, who pitched with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016 and 2017, has returned to the club on a minor league contract that includes an invite to big league spring training.

The Toronto Blue Jays have reportedly signed former Oakland A’s infielder Marcus Semien. Semien finished third in the American League MVP voting in 2019.
