Pitching prospect Vizcaino hoping to move up in Jays' ranks

Emanuel Vizcaino, a 20 year-old Dominican pitcher in his third season as a Toronto Blue Jay prospect, is the part of this international bond. Vizcaino left Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic capital and largest city, at 16 years old to chase a dream: being a pitcher in the big leagues.

UFV Cascades and Fraser Valley Cardinals experience spring training in Arizona

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades spent a week in Tucson, Ariz., earlier this month, facing American competition as they prepare for the 2019 Canadian Colleges Baseball Conference season. The Cascades have made this an annual event since 2017, but this year’s trip was different. The Cascades were joined this time by the B.C. Premier Baseball League’s Fraser Valley Cardinals.

Psota, Stephenson announce retirement from Women’s National Team

They began their careers on the Women’s National Team together back in 2004 so it’s only fitting that they finish together, too. After 15 seasons with the program, that has included participation in all eight Women’s Baseball World Cups and the 2015 Pan American Games, Kate Psota (Burlington, Ont.) and Ashley Stephenson (Mississauga, Ont.) are retiring as players from the Women’s National Team.
