Ontario Terriers hit the road

For the first time since March 2020, the Ontario Terriers are heading across the border. A combination of players from the 17U and 18U teams will take part in the Columbus Day Bash near Hartford, Conn. The event kicks off with a pro style showcase on Friday night where the players will get a chance to put their talent on display for scouts and college coaches. Twenty-eight teams then take part in tournament games over the weekend.

Hartman grateful for Junior National Team experience

“Extending his baseball season wasn’t exactly at the top of Max Hartman’s mind.

He was deep into his summer school classes when he received an unexpected phone call from Baseball Canada Junior National Team head coach Greg Hamilton.

The 18-year-old St. Albert, Alta., native was being invited to the team’s camp in Ajax, Ont., where a team would be chosen to represent Canada in the 18U Friendship Series against the United States in Florida.”

Temple University announces plans for Claire Smith Center for Sports Media

Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication today announced plans for the Claire Smith Center for Sports Media, to be named for its distinguished alumna who has been a trailblazer for women and people of color in the sports media industry. Claire Smith, the first woman sportswriter to be honored by the National Baseball Hall of Fame, has joined the Klein College faculty and will help lead the center.
