Kozar, Chee-Aloy, Pinkney propel Canada Red to win at juniors Fall camp

Rees Kozar (Amhertburg, Ont.) belted a fifth inning, three-run homer to lead a 12-hit attack for Canada Red as they went on to defeat Canada Grey, 11-2. The Red offence was firing on all cylinders with several players making an impact at the plate including Cameron Chee-Aloy (Toronto, Ont.) who smacked a pair of doubles and a triple while Hugh Pinkney (Toronto, Ont.) collected three hits and drove in two runs.

Hall’s Early Baseball Era Committee and Golden Days Era Committee to meet

The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Early Baseball Era Committee and Golden Days Era Committee will each meet for the first time this winter to consider managers, umpires, executives and long-retired players for election to the Hall of Fame. Those who made their contributions to baseball prior to 1950 will be considered by the Early Baseball Era Committee, and those who made their greatest contributions to the game from 1950-69 will be considered by the Golden Days Era Committee.

Doctor Dykxhoorn dominating and dancing in Taiwan

Canadian Baseball Network writer J.P. Antonacci recently spoke with 6-foot-9 Canadian right-hander Brock Dykxhoorn (Goderich, Ont.) who has been dominating hitters in the CPBL this season for the Uni-President Lions. Nicknamed “The Big Doctor” in Taiwan, Dykxhoorn has also won fans with his post-game dances which are a tradition in Taiwan after a player has been named the game’s MVP.
