Canadians in College baseball report for May 29 - June 4, 2017

We track the pitching and hitting statistics of 744 players from the CBN master list that are listed on the rosters of 327 schools affiliated with CCCAA, NAIA, NCAA, NJCAA, NWAC and USCAA.

Last week, Monday through Sunday, 21 schools with 31 Canadians played 57 games (11 games had Canadians on both teams). From the mound, five Canadian pitchers made six appearances, two were starts. As a group, they threw 10 innings, striking out 11, earning one save. At the plate, 14 Canadian batters had 120 at bats with 42 hits and six home runs, producing 20 RBIs.

Recently I sent an email to Prof. Andy Andreas to thank him for his amazing online course, “Sabermetrics 101x” which sparked my interest in baseball stats. I shared with Andy the College Wrap and I was a happy when he replied with, “What a cool idea!” and that he thinks the CBN web site “is a nice thing for Canadian ballplayers, their families, friends, and fans”.  For anyone interested in learning more about baseball stats or data science I highly recommend Andy’s “Sabermetrics 101x” which is free.
