McGregor, Bradwell impress at PG Northwest Showcase

The BC boyos had a strong showing at the Perfect Game Northwest Showcase at the Rock Creek Sports Complex in Ravensdale, Wash.

SS Ethan McGregor (Langley, BC), RHP James Bradwell (Roberts Creek, BC) and 1B Brendan Gerbert (Surrey, BC) all ranked among in the top 13 prospects.

McGregor who plays for the Abbotsford Cardinals was fourth, 

Bradwell, a member of North Shore Twins was fifth.

And Gerbert who plays for the Whalley Chiefs was 12th in the class of 2016.  

Sam Baker (Chemainus, BC), Josh Froese (Abbotsford, BC), Brendan Gerbert (North Surrey, BC) and Spencer Lindeman (West Vancouver, BC), who are all eligible for the 2016 draft competed, along with Mitchell Rennie (West Kelowna) BC from the class of 2017 and Jared Anderson (Victoria, BC) of 2018.

Brendan Gerbert (2016 1B, Surrey, BC) good line drive swing plane with lift, squared up ball consistently. 

Mitchell Rennie (2017 1B, West Kelowna, BC) has some strength in swing and creates good leverage and flashed power potential.

Ethan McGregor (2016 SS, Langley, BC): MacGregor had some of the best velocity of the day, running his lively fastball up to 86 MPH and complementing it with a very sharp, swing-and-miss slider.

Black vs Red Game Highlights
James Bradwell (2016 RHP, Roberts Creek, BC) has a very fast arm, fastball was up to 86 with good sink and had advanced feel for change up.  Body projects and expect more velocity in future.

Garrett Goodall (2016 RHP, Nanaimo, BC) showed bat speed and pull side pop, he also had a double.

Ethan McGregor (2016 SS, Langley, BC) had a double and showed pull side power potential.

Kelly Green Game Highlights
The following players stood out during the Kelly Green two 5-Inning games today at the Northwest Showcase.

Sam Baker (2016 RHP, Chemainus, BC) was up to 82 with his fastball that shows occasional cutting action, down in zone, arm worked well.

Spencer Lindeman (2016 1B, West Vancouver, BC) showed a nice swing plane to the ball.

2016 Top Prospects
4. Ethan McGregor - SS - 2016 - Langley, BC
McGregor is a two-way prospect who showed good bat speed at the plate as a primary shortstop but who was also up to 86 mph with a very sharp breaking slider on the mound. He’s a long limbed athlete who projects well physically.

5. James Bradwell - RHP - 2016 - Roberts Creek, BC
Bradwell has a very projectable 6-5/195 build and a fast arm that produced a fastball up to 86 mph with good sinking action and also had advanced feel for his change up.

12. Brendan Gerbert - 1B - 2016 - Surrey, BC
Gerbert has a strong and athletic build at 6-1/200 and a fluid right handed swing with plenty of bat speed and power potential. He also looked very athletic during first base drills and we wonder if he wouldn’t be better suited defensively at third base.
