OKOTOKS, Alta. _ Anthony Balderas (Lewis Clarke) pitched the Okotoks Dawgs to victory in Game 1 of the best-of-five Edmonton Prospects-Okotoks Western Major Junior League playoff series. The game was called midway through the fifth inning when the field was deamed too wet to continue.

Balderas allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in the five-inning game while he fanned five.

The Prospects Erik Sabrowski outpitched Justin Vernia 2-1 tilt to even the series 1-1 and force the series to Edmonton.

 Justin Vernia went the distance as the hard-luck loser. He allowed two runs in the third, scattering eight hits and a walk, while fanning seven.
