BARRIE - The Barrie Baycats have signed pitcher Kevin Millar for the 2021 season.

Millar, 19, is set to enter his freshman season at Southeastern Community College after playing his travel ball with the Ontario Blue Jays, where he was coached by former Baycats bench coach Joey Ellison.

The 6-foot-8, 255 pounder of Georgetown, Ontario native has a fastball which has been clocked at 94 MPH.

The righty is expected to compete for a starter's role in 2021.

Baycats manager Josh Matlow said he expects Millar to be an impact arm for this team, despite his age.

“Kevin is a huge arm, with his talent and mound presence we actually feel Kevin could be a starter in his first year with the Baycats, making him one of the youngest starters in the league.”

Millar said he cannot wait to get started with the Baycats.

“I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and helping Barrie win another championship,” Millar said. “The Baycats are a perfect fit for me to help develop my skills and play at a high level with the top team over the summer between my years at school.”
