The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired RHP Denis Samudio and cash considerations from the Kansas City Royals in exchange for RHP Connor Seabold.

Samudio, 21, has appeared in six games (three starts) between the ACL Royals and Single-A Columbia, posting a 4.12 ERA over 19 2/3 innings with 22 strikeouts, a 1.17 WHIP, and a .183 opponent average. The right-hander from David, Panama, was signed by the Royals as an international free agent in 2025, making a total of 17 appearances (12 starts) in the Royals’ system.

Seabold, 30, has made 16 appearances between the Blue Jays and Tigers this season, recording a 4.26 ERA across 19 innings. The Laguna Hills, Calif., native was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the third round of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft, making his MLB debut with the Boston Red Sox in 2021. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound righty has suited up for 56 career MLB games (19 starts) between the Red Sox, Rockies, Braves, Rays, Tigers and Blue Jays, combining to post a 7.30 ERA over 138 innings of work.
