Official London Majors News Release

The London Majors have re-signed closer Skylar Janisse.

Janisse, 32, is coming off a historic 2025 campaign in which he firmly established himself as one of the league’s premier late-inning arms. The right-hander posted a 5–1 record with a league-best and record-setting 12 saves, while compiling a 2.48 ERA across 29 innings in 23 relief appearances.

Opponents managed just a .196 batting average against Janisse, as he struck out 36 batters while issuing only 12 walks. He also led all league relievers in wins and finished tied for second on the Majors in wins, underscoring his value in high-leverage situations.

Janisse has been a model of consistency out of the bullpen over the past two seasons. In 2024, the 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander recorded a 1.86 ERA, striking out 23 and walking just three over 19 1/3 innings, laying the groundwork for his breakout 2025 performance.

A native of Maidstone, Ont., Janisse was selected by the New York Yankees in the 34th round of the 2011 MLB June Amateur Draft out of St. Thomas of Villanova High School. He went on to attend Salt Lake Community College and Oklahoma City University before beginning a professional independent baseball career that spanned 2016 to 2022, with stops in the American Association and Frontier League.

“Adding a high-leverage, back-of-the-bullpen reliever with Sky’s leadership qualities is huge for our team as we look to compete for a championship this season,” said Majors Field Manager Roop Chanderdat. “Skylar had a historic 2025 season with both wins and saves and was a big part of our success on and off the field. I’m excited to have Skylar back this season.”
