Durham Bulls outfielder Tristan Peters (Winkler, Man.) topped all Canadians in the affiliated minor league ranks with five extra-base hits and six RBIs in five games last week.
For his efforts, he has been named the Canadian Baseball Network’s minor league Player of the Week (May 27 to June 1).
The 25-year-old Tampa Bay Rays prospect started the week with a double in the Bulls’ 7-2 loss to the triple-A Memphis Redbirds on Wednesday. He followed that up with two singles, two runs, two RBIs and a walk to help the Bulls to a 11-8 victory over the Redbirds the next day.
After going hitless on Friday, Peters had a walk and a run in the Bulls’ 9-8 loss to the Redbirds on Saturday.
However, the Canuck outfielder saved his best for his final game of the week, when he belted two home runs and two doubles and drove in four runs, while also scoring four, to propel the Bulls to a 10-5 victory on Sunday.
In total, the Okotoks Dawgs alum went 7-for-18 in five games. He had a .889 slugging percentage and a 1.339 OPS.
With his strong week, he boosted his season batting average 12 points - from .269 to. 281. In 56 games in triple-A in 2025, Peters has five home runs, 26 RBIs and six stolen bases.
The left-handed hitting outfielder is in his third season in the Rays’ organization.
