The Okotoks Dawgs routed the Lethbridge Bulls 11-0 on Monday night at Spitz Stadium to extend their winning streak to five games.
The victory also boosted the Dawgs’ record to 19-8 and pushed them three games ahead of the Bulls atop the West Division standings.
Offensively, the Dawgs collected 16 hits. Steven Elsner (Bellevue University) belted two solo home runs, as part of a 3-for-5 performance, while Zane Sansi (Campbellsville University) continued to shine, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs.
On the mound, Gavin Wuschke (Regina, Sask.) started and allowed just two hits, while striking out six, in six scoreless innings. Anderson Tordiffe (Surrey, B.C.), Frank Flores (Colorado State University - Pueblo) and Easton Corey (Linn Benton Community College) each contributed scoreless innings in relief to preserve the shutout for the Dawgs.
The Dawgs will return to Seaman Stadium on Tuesday to battle the Brooks Bombers on Canada Day.
