The Okotoks Dawgs gave their fans an early Christmas present on Friday night - a 4-1 win over the Brooks Bombers at Seaman Stadium.
The victory came on Christmas in July night and improved the Dawgs’ record to 30-14. They now sit two games ahead of the Lethbridge Bulls atop the West Division standings.
Offensively, Leo Cote (Boucherville, Que.) and Jake Skaggs (Pittsburg State University) each belted a home run and drove in two runs.
On the mound, Ryan Rembisz (University of Portland) made his Seaman Stadium debut, striking out five in four scoreless innings.
Ashton Luera (Oklahoma Wesleyan University) and Reid Madariaga (Seattle University) also tossed scoreless innings in their season debuts while Alex Oliver (Colorado State University-Pueblo) struck out the side to close out the game.
The Dawgs will play the Bombers again on Saturday at Seaman Stadium.
