Grant leads Dawgs to rout of Bombers

The Okotoks Dawgs dominated the Brooks Bombers in a resounding 17-2 victory on Saturday night at Seaman Stadium.

Logan Grant (Calgary, Alta.) led the Dawgs’ offence with three hits - including a three-run home run - and three runs.

Connor Crowson (Okotoks, Alta.) added a hit and two RBIs while Barry Eiseman (Reinhardt University) went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run. Kadyn Williams (Pittsburg State University) also knocked in two runs and scored twice.

On the mound, Jace Wessels (Bellevue University), started and allowed just three hits in five scoreless innings, while collecting four strikeouts.

Ryan McFarland (Calgary, Alta.) and Evan Lehnert (Lin Benton Community College) each contributed a scoreless inning in relief.

With the win, the Dawgs improved to 32-14 on the season and sit two-and-a-half games ahead of the Lethbridge Bulls in the West Division standings.

The Dawgs will play the second-place Bulls on Sunday at Seaman Stadium.
