The Okotoks Dawgs lost 14-7 to the Brooks Bombers on Saturday night.

The Dawgs got behind early, and fought hard to get back in the game, but just could not complete the comeback. Despite the result, the Dawgs maintain their lead atop the WCBL’s Western Division.

The Dawgs’ bats were led by Turner Zdunich (High River, Alta.) who went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run.

Jordan Kievman also had a big night, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run, while Lachlan Maude (Toronto, Ont.) contributed a pair of hits and an RBI.

On the mound, the Dawgs pitching was led by starter Grady Keljo who went two innings, allowing two runs while striking out three.

Jack Bello (Vancouver, B.C.), from the Dawgs Academy, had an impressive relief outing, striking out four in two innings.

With the loss, the Dawgs drop to 32-12 on the season.

They continue their road trip on Sunday with a rematch against the Bombers. The Dawgs’ next home game will be on Wednesday against the Lethbridge Bulls.
