Elliott: Four Canucks impress at Area Code Games

A Canadian trio all contributed to the Yankees beating the Royals 8-4 at the Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif.
The threesome was Jalen Jacob, Gabriel De Santis and Gave Fink.
1B Jacob (Maple, Ont.), of the Ontario Blue Jays, had a pair of hits, while De Santis (Chatham, Ont.), with the Great Lake Canadians, singled and knocked in a run. Gabe Fink (Edmonton, Alta.), of the AHP Academy, pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and three walks. When Fink departed, the Yankees held a 6-4 lead. Fink threw 36 pitches -- 16 for strikes.

The Yankees registered a 5-2 win over the White Sox as 1B Jacob singled, while De Santis was held hitless.
Both De Santis and Jacob went without a hit as the Yankees lost 5-1 to the Athletics
Next, the Yankees lost 4-0 to the Brewers, as both De Santis, who has committed o Coastal Carolina, and Jacob were 0-for-1.
RHP Calum Anderson (Calgary, Alta.), of the Vauxhall Academy Jets, started and pitched two scoreless as the Yankees played the Royals to a 4-4 tie in the final game. He allowed two hits and struck out one in his 22-pitch effort, which saw 15 strikes. He departed with a 4-0 lead. De Santis singled, while Jacob was hitless.
On the week, Jacob 3-for-14 (.214) and De Santis was 2-for-12 (.167).
