Mikey Batiste of the Ontario Blue Jays

Mikey Batiste

Baseball America Scouting Report: … Batiste is an immense human being with the power to match. He’s 6-foot-5, 235 pounds at 16, a four-star player and No. 5 overall in the 2028 class. A switch-hitter, Batiste showed that power in batting practice, hitting a ball at 105 mph off the scoreboard in right field while batting lefthanded.

He showed it again while winning the home run derby and making a park that’s difficult to hit home runs in look small. He’s a corner outfielder with a promising combination of both patience and power, giving him the look of a potential 30-plus home run slugger who could hit in the middle of a lineup.

Okotoks Dawfs OF Ethan Renaurd

OF Ethan Renaud

Baseball America Scouting Report: …While Batiste is the top player in Canada for 2028, Renaud is another talented Canadian hitter ranked No. 28 overall. He has a great frame at a lean 6-foot-3, 190 pounds that should allow him to add significant power to what he was already flashing in batting practice, where he produced exit velocities up to 102 mph and then flashed it in game with an opposite-field double.

While there was some swing-and-miss in this look, Renaud has a simple, balanced lefthanded swing with good path through the hitting zone, making for a promising mix of hitting ability and power potential with a likely corner outfield defensive profile.
