Did someone say 10?: Great Lakes put up a 10-spot in the second inning on it way to victory. Jamie Moore and Cooper Clark started off the inning by drawing walks and Roen Douglas singled to load the bases. Nickolas Melehes delivered a two-run single and after a fielder’s choice, Jack Ward and Ashton Gaulton singled in runs, before Tyson Moran hit a two-run single. Next, Moore doubled and Clark hit a run-scoring fly ball. After a walk, Douglas singled in a run.
Moore is hitting .455 through five games. So the second-inning uproar consisted of 10 runs on a double, six singles and three walks against two Nationals pitchers.
Moran and Melehes each drove in three runs, while Tyson Borghese, speedy son of the speedy member of our National team, Ward, Gaulton, Clark and Douglas also drove in runs.
Dylan Miles pitched a complete game, working five innings allowing two runs on three hits while fanning four. He hit 92 MPH and threw 63% of his 52 pitches for strikes.
Aaron Mander, James Craig and Ty Shapton each singled for the Nationals. Nationals C Cameron Dube continued to receive interest from scouts.

And in this corner: Great Lakes will meet the first-place FieldHouse Pirates (4-1) after the Bucos beat the Ottawa-Nepean Canadians 9-1 at Royal Field
Again it was a huge inning as FieldHouse scored five times in the fourth: Quinn Carson walked, Evan York followed with a pinch-hit single, Ryan Stalony doubled home a run, Matthew Kolodziej was next with a two-run single, Jamie Mercer singled in a run and lead-off man William Henderson delivered a run-scoring fly ball
FieldHouse Pirates’ Ryan Stalony isn’t making many outs.
The Pirates rode home the 6-1 lead as Stalony had three safeties and Robert Omidi, Carson, York and Kolodziej each added a pair of hits. Omidi, Carson and Stalony each doubled, with Ben Bradley, York and Kolodziej driving in a pair each. With the 3-for-3 day, Stalony has a .727 average for the event, while Carson is hitting .364.
Nolan Bigras pitched five innings, allowing four hits, a walk and fanning four in his 66-pitch outing.
Aidan Loney had a pair of hits for the older established Canadians organization, while Jake Ferris and Hayden Payne each singled.

FieldHouse Pirates Evan Wallace
Another no-no: Evan Wallace and Tanner Wiens combined on a no-hitter as the FieldHouse Pirates edged Mississauga Tigers 1-0 in 16U play. Wallace fanned six and walked one in seven hitless innings. Wiens finished up.
Connor Brown singled home the game’s only runner in extras and is hitting .500. Hunter Bartha led the way for the Buckos going 2-3 raising his average to .571. Aiden De Leon singled and is hitting .400.
