Forno fans 10 to lead Dawgs to win

The Okotoks Dawgs continued their Saskatchewan road trip with a 7-3 victory over the Weyburn Beavers on Friday at Tom Laing Park.

On the mound, Brody Forno (Okotoks, Alta.) started and struck out 10 while allowing just one run on four hits in six innings.

Dalton Hoffart came on in relief and struck out the side in the seventh.

Brody Burnette then closed out the game by striking out four in 1 1/3 scoreless innings.

Cal Gates led the Dawgs’ offence, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two runs.

Emmet Stacher and Turner Zdunich (High River, Alta.) also recorded two hits each, including timely doubles late in the game to help secure the Dawgs’ victory.

The Dawgs will look to continue their winning ways with another game against the Beavers on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
