Four Canadians named to Cloud County T-Birds' All-Decade Team

Four Canadians have been named to the Cloud County Community College T-Birds All-Decade Baseball Team.

LHP Erik Sabrowski (Edmonton, Alta.), RHP Emilio Foden (Abbotsford, BC), OF Matt Bondarchuk (Edmonton, Alta.) and 3B Tauren Langley (Edmonton, Alta.) all earned positions on the 13-man squad unveiled on the school’s Twitter account on New Year’s Day.

Sabrowski, who was also named the program’s Pitcher of the Decade, went 7-2 with a 3.14 ERA and struck out a school-record 117 batters in 66 innings for the T-Birds in 2018. For his efforts, he was named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Pitcher of the Year. He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 14th round of the 2018 MLB draft.

Sabrowski was also named DH on the T-Birds All-Decade squad. He hit.355 with 18 doubles and 13 home runs in 2018.

Foden, an Abbotsford Cardinals alum, joins Sabrowski on the pitching staff. He toed the rubber for the T-Birds in 2014 and 2015. He went 6-3 with 78 strikeouts in 2015 and registered 121 career strikeouts with the T-Birds, which is the second-most all-time. He later transferred to Central Washington University.

Bondarchuk, a Prospects Baseball Academy grad, claimed one of the three outfield spots on the team. The Edmonton native suited up for the T-Birds in 2017 and 2018 and set school records for career hits (149) and hits in a season (84). In total, he owns seven T-Birds records, including most career stolen bases (38). He later transferred to the University of Nebraska Omaha.

Langley, also a Prospects Baseball Academy alum, is the third baseman on the All-Decade Team. He played for the T-Birds in 2017 and 2018 and batted .305 with 19 doubles and 10 home runs during the 2017 campaign. In total, he recorded 43 career extra base hits and 17 home runs as a T-Bird. He later transferred to Saint Louis University. Currently at Emporia State.
