Official Ontario Blue Jays News Release

The Ontario Blue Jays are excited to announce that RHP Julian Parson (Mississauga, Ont.) has committed to further his academic and baseball career at the University of South Carolina Upstate (NCAA DI - Spartanburg, SC).

Parson is a long-time Ontario Blue Jay, beginning his OBJ career as a 14-year-old while attending Loyola Secondary School in Mississauga. Parson made the transition to the mound full-time as a 15-year-old and hasn't looked back. Although, his OBJ career is filled with great performances, Julian played a key role in 2018 as the OBJ 16U team took home both the Marucci World Series and Future Stars National Trials in back-to-back weeks.

Parson will head to South Carolina to join fellow OBJ Alumni, RHP Lukas Touma on the Spartans who were off to a hot start in 2020 under a new coaching staff lead by Mike McGuire. Julian will look to be an impact Freshman for the Spartans beginning next Fall. Parson joins Touma in the battle of the Big South with fellow OBJ Alumni, David Coleman at High Point University.

Parson, who played for coach Aaron Thompson with the Mississauga Southwest Twins, will be the second Ontario Blue Jays player to attend the University of South Carolina Upstate.
