Wright propels Titans into Conference Championship Series

Paterson, N.J. - Backed by a four-RBI night from Taylor Wright and six scoreless innings from Eric Pardinho, the Ottawa Titans blanked the New Jersey Jackals 6-0 on Saturday night, taking Game 2 and sweeping their way to the Atlantic Conference Championship Series.

In a tight affair early on, Thomas Ferroggiaro kicked off a third-inning rally by drawing a walk against Jackals' right-hander Sonny Fauci to turn the lineup over. Jake Steels singled to right, and with two outs, Taylor Wright (North Vancouver, B.C.) unloaded for a three-run homer to right to put the Titans ahead 3-0.

The advantage was plenty for Pardinho, who dominated through six clean innings in his first career Frontier League Playoff start. After leaving multiple runners on in the first and second, the righty dazzled, at one point retiring 10 in a row.

Pardinho went six, allowing no runs on four hits, walking two, and striking out seven. He fanned the last four hitters he saw on strikes.

Needing insurance, Taylor Wright knocked in his fourth of the night on a seventh-inning RBI double to make it 4-0.

The Jackals' righty was charged with four runs on five hits, walking four, hitting one, and striking out 11. In all three starts against the Titans in 2026, Fauci registered double-digit strikeout performances.

For good measure in the eighth, the Titans cashed in a pair of leadoff walks against Andrew Peters. Ferroggiaro knocked in one on a fielder's choice, while Steels poked his second hit of the night the opposite way to right, plating another to make it 6-0.

Out of the bullpen in support of the Pardinho quality start, Liu Fuenmayor punched out three over two scoreless innings, while Brett Garcia fanned three in the ninth to slam the door.

Jake Steels and Taylor Wright posted multi-hit outings in the series clincher. Kaiden Cardoso (Abbotsford, B.C.) and Thomas Ferroggiaro each walked twice.

For the first time in club history, the Titans have won a best-of-three series in the postseason.

With New York shocking Québec in the other Atlantic Conference Wild Card, the Titans will now meet the New York Boulders in the Atlantic Conference Championship Series.

The Titans continue the 2026 Playoffs, playing Game 1 of the Atlantic Conference best-of-five Championship Series against the New York Boulders on Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Clover Stadium in Pomona, New York. With Game 2 also in New York, the Titans hold home-field advantage as the higher seed, hosting Game 3 in Ottawa on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at Ottawa Stadium.
