All three national tournaments across Canada are heating up as Friday had some crucial games and Saturday starts the elimination period for some squads.

The 13U National Western Championship in Surrey, 18U National Championship in London, and 21U Men’s National Championship in Gatineau all started on Thursday.

The BIGS Seeds Baseball Canada Cup concluded Sunday night when Nova Scotia took gold with a close 3-2 win over Ontario. This marks Nova Scotia’s first ever gold medal in their first Finals appearance. The 6-1 Nova Scotia beat out the eight-time and defending champion Ontario squad for the win.

Saturday’s action at the BIGS Seeds Baseball Canada Cup got off to a slow start due to a rain delay, but at the end of the day, Québec (4-2) solidified themselves at the top of Group A. Ontario (3-3) and BC (3-3) failed to catch up. Nova Scotia (4-1) was finally defeated at the hands of PEI but remained atop Group B. Manitoba (4-1) finished in a close second place.

The BIGS Seeds Baseball Canada Cup continued on Friday. With Quarter-Finals set to begin Saturday night, Friday’s games had an increased sense of urgency.

Ontario captured gold while Québec earned silver and Manitoba secured bronze on Sunday at the 2019 21U Women’s Invitational.

The stage is almost set at the 2019 21U Women’s Invitational tournament. Québec and Nova Scotia will play a tiebreaker at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday to determine who will face Ontario for gold.
