As the Toronto Blue Jays' class-A Short Season Vancouver Canadians opened their season on Thursday night, playing professional baseball in another city in Canada may have provided some good karma as the Blue Jays' minor league affiliates won all eight of their games including sweeps of doubleheaders by the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Lansing Lugnuts. Soroka named Southern League All-Star

Junior National Team alum Mike Soroka (Calgary, Alta.) has been named to the South Division roster for the Southern League All-Star Game that will take place on June 20. Despite being just 19 years old, the Canadian right-hander is tied for first in the double-A loop with seven wins, while his 2.73 ERA and 1.02 WHIP are among the top 10 in the league.
