The bases were still there, the gloves too and the bats were still being swung. But not by professionals. No, it was the UBC Thunderbirds’ special day at The Nat as they welcomed the University of Tokyo to East Vancouver’s treasure for the first-ever game in the Collegiate Baseball Classic. The 2019 tournament organized by the Thunderbirds is an invitational summer series of games.”

Adam Maier (North Vancouver, BC) of the the North Shore Twins has been named the B.C. Premier Elite League MVP. He had a 7-2 won-loss record with an 0.24 ERA in 14 games this season, making eight starts. He allowed 10 walks and fanned 88 in 58 1/3 innings.

The Whitby Chiefs, coached by Clare Osborne, won the Baseball Ontario 15U championships at Clarkson Park in Mississauga and now head to Kinsmen Stadium where the host Oshawa Legionaires await.
