Canadian McAffer enjoyed "home field advantage" in Jays' system

North Vancouver, B.C., native Will McAffer found himself on familiar soil when he took the mound at Nat Bailey Stadium in Vancouver for his first professional appearance last June. The 21-year old right-hander was drafted in the 25th round out of Tulane University by the Toronto Blue Jays before being promptly sent to the Vancouver Canadians of the Northwest Baseball league.

Mascarenas and Townsend to return to Dawgs for 2019 season

The Okotoks Dawgs announced their first player signings for the 2019 Western Canadian Baseball League (WCBL) season on Monday. The club has secured commitments from junior college powerhouse Linn-Benton Community College in Oregon, including the re-signing of 2018 infielder Richard Mascarenas and right-handed pitcher Brock Townsend, as well as the addition of two newcomers, right-handed pitcher Daniel Ferrario and outfielder Jacob Melton.
