After being lifted following a pivotal throwing error in the third inning of the Toronto Blue Jays’ 8-4 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has been optioned down to triple-A Buffalo in exchange for infielder Eric Sogard. To clear a sport for Sogard on the club’s 40-man roster, the Blue Jays placed left-hander Ryan Borucki on the 60-day injured list.
