The club, led by skipper Jon Kielb (25th year; second as manager), went a solid 36-10 overall in 2018, including a 24-4 record in league play which was good for top spot in the league and their fifth Anson Buck Trophy (emblematic of the top record in league play) in the past six seasons.

COBA Major: Ryerson, Sogan back with Burlington

Canadian Baseball Network contributor Dan Estey writes that the Burlington Brants will be back in the fold in the COBA Major League in 2019. The Brants, who are led by coaches Rick Ellis and Peter Lambert, had a down year in 2018 going 11–24 – 3 overall and 9– 15–3 in league play, good for third place in the Johnson Division and seventh place overall in the loop. The veteran laden club will be looking to add a few bodies and try and improve their standing heading into the 2019 season.

Auerbach looking forward to return to Europe

From Canada to the United States to Europe and back again, McGill University Redmen head coach Casey Auerbach has experienced a lot in the game of baseball. Auerbach now hopes to pass on what he has experienced, both on the field and culturally, by taking a group of college baseball players to Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
